International media, citing unidentified senior US officials, reported that the military had downed an unidentified flying object over Lake Huron.
Earlier on Sunday, the US Civil Aviation Authority announced that the airspace over Lake Michigan in the northern United States was closed for "national defense" reasons.
This comes after three flying objects, one of which Washington described as a Chinese spy balloon, were shot down over the United States and Canada in a week.
On Saturday, airspace in the US state of Montana was temporarily closed, but the fighter jet sent to investigate did not determine the presence of a flying "object", according to the military.
On the other hand, the commander of the US Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command, General Glendy Vanherk, said yesterday, Sunday, after a series of shooting down unknown objects that he does not rule out that these objects are from outside the planet or any other explanation.
When asked about the connection of the three flying objects that were shot down by US warplanes to aliens, he said: “I do not rule out anything.”
