US Central Command announced that the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford experienced a fire, confirming that the incident was not related to any combat activity.
The command stated that emergency crews quickly contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to other parts of the carrier.
It added that two sailors were injured as a result of the fire, without providing further details about the nature of their injuries.
Central Command clarified that the carrier's propulsion system was not damaged and that the ship continues to operate normally.
