Since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict two years ago, the United States has provided Israel with at least $21.7 billion in military aid, according to a new academic study published Tuesday.

The research, titled The Costs of War and produced by Watson College in collaboration with the Quincy Institute for Responsible Governance, highlights the extensive financial support allocated under both the Trump and Biden administrations.

The report notes that roughly $10 billion in additional military and security assistance has been spent across the Middle East over the past two years.

In the first year of the war, the United States delivered $17.9 billion to Israel, coinciding with President Biden’s re-election year, while about $3.8 billion was allocated in the second year. Some of the aid has already been delivered, with the remainder scheduled for disbursement over the coming years.

A second analysis of intensified US operations in the region, including strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen and Iranian nuclear facilities, estimates costs between $9.65 billion and $12 billion since October 7, 2023. This includes $1 billion to $2.25 billion related specifically to operations targeting Iran.

Meanwhile, medical sources in Gaza report that the ongoing Israeli offensive has killed 67,160 people and injured 169,679 since October 7, 2023. Of these, 13,568 deaths and 57,638 injuries occurred between March 18, 2025, and the present.

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics indicates that the attacks have damaged nearly 190,115 buildings in Gaza, including 102,067 completely destroyed structures, double the number recorded during the first year of the war.

Partially damaged buildings number 41,895, and affected housing units total roughly 330,500.
