The US State Department has issued a warning to American citizens regarding planned protests near US and Israeli embassies and other locations worldwide.
In a statement shared via the social media platform X, the department urged, "Worldwide Caution: Social media posts on various platforms are calling for demonstrations at U.S. and Israeli facilities on Friday, October 25, 2024. U.S. citizens should avoid demonstrations and exercise caution."
The warning follows a call by Hamas for global participation in the "Day of Rage," highlighting ongoing violence in northern Gaza, where the situation has escalated dramatically over the past 20 days, with reports of significant casualties and destruction.
Hamas's statement urged Arab and Islamic populations, as well as global advocates for justice, to participate in mass demonstrations against what they describe as ongoing Israeli massacres in the region.
They emphasized the urgency of public action, stating that Israeli operations have resulted in hundreds of deaths and the displacement of thousands, as well as the destruction of homes, hospitals, and shelters.
In recent days, there has been a surge in calls for protests around the world, rallying support for Gaza and resistance against what many perceive as escalating military aggression.
