A US-Israeli delegation will leave for the Moroccan capital, Rabat, on a direct flight from Tel Aviv within a week, a US senior official confirmed, according to Israel's Wallah news website.

The delegation will be headed by Jared Kushner, senior advisor to President Trump, and Israeli National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat.

The delegation will also include, White House envoy Avi Berkowitz, International Development Finance Corporation CEO Adam Boehler, and senior Israeli officials from different government ministries.

The visit aims at resuming talks on the Israeli-Moroccan normalization deal reached last week.

It is scheduled that, Kushner and his accompanying delegation will arrive in Israel on Monday to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Tuesday, they will travel to Rabat on Flight No. 212, the first-ever direct flight of an Israeli airline from Tel Aviv to Rabat.

It is worth mentioning that, last Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that Morocco’s King Mohamed VI had agreed to normalize relations with Israel in a peace deal brokered by the United States, making the North African nation the fourth Arab country in few months to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel.

“Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed to full diplomatic relations – a massive breakthrough for peace in the Middle East!” Trump tweeted.

The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan recently moved to normalize relations with Israel in deals brokered by Washington.
