The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced during the US-Iran negotiations that an agreement has been reached to establish a mechanism for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, a senior US official participating in the negotiations confirmed that the ongoing talks with Iran are still underway, noting that both delegations have been holding intensive meetings since the morning hours amid progress in discussing several key issues.

The US official clarified that the Iranian delegation remains present at the negotiation venue, denying reports that claimed they had departed. He added that both sides expect to continue working throughout the night to conclude the consultations.

He noted that the discussions addressed Iranian messages regarding the Strait of Hormuz, while exploring mechanisms to ensure the waterway remains fully open and to prevent any escalation that could affect international maritime navigation.

Furthermore, the talks covered the implementation of a ceasefire in southern Lebanon, alongside what he described as in-depth discussions on various clauses of the nuclear deal, paving the way for the transition to the technical talks phase in the coming period.
