The United States has imposed new travel restrictions on passengers arriving from Uganda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo amid growing fears over the Ebola outbreak.

The restrictions apply to travelers who have visited the three countries within the past 21 days, as US authorities intensify efforts to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that suspected and confirmed Ebola-linked cases involving American citizens exposed in outbreak zones are under investigation, with one infected patient transferred to Germany for specialized treatment.

New measures include enhanced airport screenings, traveler monitoring, and expanded contact tracing for arrivals from high-risk areas.

US health officials stressed that the risk of Ebola spreading inside the country remains low, but warned that the escalating outbreak in parts of Africa requires strict preventive measures.

Global health agencies have also called for stronger international coordination to prevent the outbreak from expanding further.
