U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are traveling to Doha to continue dialogue with Iran, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing U.S. officials, while Tehran said there were no negotiations planned with Washington in the Qatari capital.

CNN said Witkoff and Kushner were en route to Doha as part of ongoing diplomatic contacts with Iran.

Iran's Foreign Ministry, however, denied reports of planned talks, saying there would be no negotiations with the United States in Doha and that no meetings with U.S. officials were scheduled.

Moreover, the ministry said Tehran had formed a special task force to oversee implementation of a memorandum of understanding with the United States, without providing further details on the agreement.

The differing accounts leave the status of any U.S.-Iran engagement unclear.

Neither Washington nor Tehran has publicly elaborated on the reported diplomatic contacts, and no immediate comment was available from Qatari authorities.

Qatar has frequently acted as an intermediary between the United States and Iran, hosting indirect talks and facilitating communication between the two countries during periods of heightened regional tensions.
