U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Whitkoff confirmed that negotiations with the Iranian delegation were held in a positive and constructive manner, adding that talks will continue on April 19.
In a post on his X platform page, Whitkoff stated: “We had a very positive and constructive conversation,” confirming that he would return to the United States today.
The White House also affirmed that discussions with Iran were “very positive and constructive.”
Whitkoff informed the Iranian Foreign Minister that he had received instructions from President Trump to resolve disputes between the two countries through dialogue and diplomacy, if possible.
He noted that the direct engagement conducted today marks a step forward toward achieving a mutually beneficial outcome, pointing out that both sides agreed to meet again next Saturday.
