US Embassy Hosts AI Forum in Cairo to Expand Egypt Technology Partnership

The US Embassy in Cairo hosted a major technology conference bringing together around 200 Egyptian officials, entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders to strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

Held under the title “From Silicon Valley to the Nile Valley: American Innovation and AI Forum,” the event focused on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital media, financial technology and other emerging sectors.

US Chargé d’Affaires Robert Silverman delivered the opening remarks, while US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis Steven Haines and Egyptian Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation Mahmoud Badawi gave keynote addresses.

US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau also addressed participants through a video message from Washington.

Haines said the United States was committed to working with Egypt to develop the potential of artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

He said American companies had extensive expertise in AI, cloud computing, semiconductors, cybersecurity and digital services, adding that partnerships based on transparency and trust could support Egyptian companies and innovators.

Silverman said the two countries were building a technology partnership for the future by combining American innovation with Egyptian talent and ambition.

The forum examined opportunities to expand commercial partnerships, accelerate Egypt’s digital transformation and promote secure and trusted technologies.

Participants visited exhibitions organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and major US technology companies, including Microsoft, Cisco and Dell.

Panel discussions also brought together senior representatives from Egyptian and American companies to discuss advanced technologies, economic opportunities and access to international markets.

The embassy said the forum reflected US efforts to expand trade in goods and services with Egypt and connect Egyptian entrepreneurs and businesses with American expertise and technology.
