U.S. Embassy in Cairo confirmed in a social media post that travel updates for Egypt remain at Level 2, unchanged from their status prior to the start of the US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
This reflects no change in the general assessment of the security situation in the country.
The embassy cited a statement from the US State Department, which read, "The Trump administration places no higher priority than the safety and security of Americans worldwide. On March 2, we issued a region-wide warning message to Americans in the Middle East in light of rapidly evolving developments."
The statement further added, "We have raised the security alert level for Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to Level 3. Meanwhile, Egypt remains at Level 2, reflecting that our general assessment of the security situation there has not changed at this time."
