US Doesn't Support Military Operation in Rafah, Biden Says

US President Joe Biden informed Netanyahu that Washington does not support the operation in Rafah under the current circumstances, US official revealed, according to Axios website.

Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden held a phone call on Sunday evening, to discuss the latest developments in the war in Gaza.

During the phone call, Netanyahu told Biden that victory in Gaza means security control over it, Israeli media reported.

For its part, the White House said that Biden called for urgent and specific steps to increase humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians.

Moreover, Biden stressed the need to take advantage of the progress made in the negotiations to secure the release of all hostages as soon as possible.

According to the White House, US President stressed that the military operation in Rafah should not begin without a plan to ensure the safety of the displaced.

Furthermore, The White House noted that Biden and Netanyahu agreed to remain in close contact.
