US Department: Sanctions Lead to Devastate Russia’s Economy

Geraldine Griffith, the regional snowwoman for US Department, has urged Russia to retreat from its military aggression on neighboring Ukraine.

The US diplomat affirmed that the United States of America (USA) seeks to tighten noose around Russia.

She added over an interview with Al-Arabia- Al-Hadath, a Saudi space channel, that sanctions on Russia will lead to devastate its economy and diminish its capability to fund the war in Ukraine.

Griffith indicated that collapsing of the ruble, Russia’s national currency is one of the results of the sanctions.

She pointed out that Russia is going to see more negative fallouts.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the casualties among its forces in the ongoing military operation in Ukraine.

The ministry said in a statement that the losses among the Russian forces amounted to 498 killed and 1,597 wounded.

The Russian Defense Ministry indicated that the losses of the Ukrainian side amounted to 2,870 dead and about 3,700 wounded, while 572 soldiers of the Ukrainian side were captured.

A week after the war, Kyiv says it has captured dozens of Russian soldiers. And spread on the websites, video recordings of the phone showing young men in military uniforms, looking confused and without weapons.

The Ministry of Defense in Ukraine released phone numbers and an email address to provide information on captured Russians, while mothers were invited to come to Kyiv to collect their missing sons.
