US Denies Striking North Iraq

On Tuesday, the US Central Command denied launching any airstrikes near Jurf Al Sakhar, north Iraq according to a tweet by the command.

Iraq's Security Media Cell denied that Iraqi security forces in the area had been targeted by any strikes on Monday night, calling on the media and bloggers to be careful about the information they publish and not to broadcast rumors, according to Jerusalem Post.

Many local reports asserted that the US troops operated a number of airstrikes in northern Iraq against Iran-backed militias there, at the same time of Pompeo's tweet about the 2019 bombing of the U.S. embassy in Baghdad on Monday night.

The local reports added that the strike left behind a number of dead and wounded.
