US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned that Russia’s war in Ukraine “has changed”, noting that the coming weeks will be “fatal.”
He added that the USA plans to provide what Ukrainians need right now in the Donbass and in the south.”
Austin called on Congress to approve the administration’s request for $33 billion for the war in Ukraine “to help the Department of Defense provide unimpeded support to Ukraine.”
The defense secretary said the United States has provided $3.7 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion on Feb 24th.
Austin pledged that his country would do everything in its power to “make sure that it supports Ukraine and its efforts to defend its sovereignty.”
