US total COVID-19 cases exceeded 18 million on Monday, according to John Hopkins University. The latest wave of deadly viruses began to accelerate in most parts of the USA in mid-October. It took just over two weeks for the nation to move from eight million to nine million on October 30 going from nine to 10 million took just 10 days. The cases increased from 10 million to 11 million in less than seven days.

Moreover, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) suggested that the Coronavirus pandemic would last for at least two years, and they expected that the virus could not be contained before a third of the world’s population became immunized against infection.

On other hand, the U.S. Congress passed a long-awaited COVID-19 stimulus package of $900 billion on Monday night, along with funding of $1.4 trillion to keep the government running through the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2021.

According to WASHINGTON post, the Congress deal would deliver the first significant infusion of federal dollars into the economy since April, as negotiators broke through months of partisan gridlock that had scuttled earlier talks, leaving millions of Americans and businesses without federal help as the pandemic raged.

On other hand, the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explained that the plan inadequate and noted they would soon push for more relief spending after President-elect Joe Biden takes office on Jan. 20. Moreover, the relief plan includes direct payments of $600 to most adults and $600 per child, according to Pelosi.
