Sources told CNN that the House Committee to Investigate the Storming of Congress on January 6, 2021, is considering conducting criminal referrals to the Ministry of Justice for former President Donald Trump and at least four individuals.

CNN first reported that the Jan. 6 committee is considering making recommendations to the Justice Department to open criminal investigations or bring charges against Trump, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, attorney John Eastman, former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, and Trump's former attorney Rudy. Giuliani.

Sources told CNN that the commission has not yet decided who to refer to the circuit for prosecution and for what potential charges. Bloomberg also reported that the commission is considering referrals for these five individuals, citing a person familiar with the matter.
