U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Sunday he does not expect to see relief from 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports scheduled to take effect next Wednesday.
The tariffs, ordered by President Donald Trump in February, include imports from Canada and Mexico — two of the biggest foreign suppliers — and apply to finished metal products as well. U.S. steelmakers have urged Trump to resist the tariff exemptions, which risk hitting U.S. companies that use aluminum and steel.
