John Kerry, the Special Envoy for Climate of the US President, will be visiting India from July 25th to 29th of this year, the US State Department announced.

In a statement issued on Monday, the State Department mentioned that Kerry's visit to New Delhi and Chennai aims to assist in achieving shared goals in climate and clean energy, including joint efforts to establish a platform for investing in renewable energy resources and conservation and to support the use of carbon-neutral buses and diversify supply chains in the field of clean energy.

During his stay in India, Kerry is expected to meet with Indian officials in New Delhi, as well as engage with counterparts at the G20 summit in Chennai.

This visit comes shortly after Kerry's recent trip to China between July 16th and 19th, where he concluded that Washington and Beijing would require more time to reach any specific agreements in the realm of climate.
