U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer announced that the United States has reached an "agreement" with China regarding their ongoing dispute over trade tariffs, noting that full details of the deal will be made public on Monday.
The Chinese delegation, led by Vice Premier He Lifeng, did not issue any public statements following the conclusion of the talks in Geneva.
Greer noted that President Donald Trump had declared a "national emergency" last month due to the massive trade deficit with China, which stands at $2.1 trillion.
Following the two-day meeting, Greer stated, "We are confident that the agreement we have reached with our Chinese partners will allow us to move forward toward ending the national emergency."
