US carrier Delta Air Lines has suspended its flights between New York and Tel Aviv through the end of May, as escalating security risks in the Middle East continue to disrupt international air travel.
According to Israeli Channel 12, the decision comes amid growing concerns over the security situation, following intensified missile attacks and rising regional instability. The move reflects broader disruptions affecting aviation routes to and from Israel as airlines reassess operational safety.
The suspension highlights the immediate impact of the ongoing escalation on global aviation and economic activity, with airlines increasingly adjusting schedules or halting routes in response to heightened risks.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance warned that the coming weeks could be particularly challenging, describing the current period as a complex transitional phase linked to the ongoing conflict. He suggested that the situation may continue to evolve as military and political developments unfold.
At the same time, Vance emphasized that President Donald Trump does not seek a prolonged conflict, indicating Washington’s preference to contain the escalation rather than allow it to develop into a long-term war.
