Upon his recent arrival in Egypt, newly appointed US Ambassador Jonathan Cohen has begun visiting some of Egypt’s historic landmarks, including the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Moreover, Jonathan visited the Sphinx as well as the panorama area. He was keen to take a number of memorial photos.

While touring the tourist site, Cohen expressed his admiration for the ancient Egyptian civilization, as well as the Sphinx sculpture, and its magnitude.

It is worth mentioning that, the American diplomat has presented his credentials at the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Ministry on Sunday, filling in the vacant but significant post since 2017.

The US embassy revealed that Jonathan speaks French, Swedish and Italian fluently and is working on his Arabic.

He served as US Deputy Representative to the United Nations (UN). He also was a Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, from August 2016 to June 2018.
