The Ambassador of the United States to Libya Richard Norland welcomed the launching of the unification process of the Central Bank of Libya, describing it as a 'historic step'.

Norland considered - according to a tweet by the US embassy through its account on "Twitter" reported by the Libyan News Agency - that this step will contribute to financial and political stability in the country.

Norland, during his meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Saddek Elkaber encouraged the Central Bank of Libya team to continue working with transparency, and to commit to completing the process expeditiously.

The Central Bank of Libya had announced the launching of the reunification process, during a meeting between Elkaber and his deputy, Ali Salem Al-Hibri, during which a contract was signed with "Deloitte" company to provide technical and advisory assistance.
