Violent explosions were reported across parts of Iran on Tuesday, as Israeli media said a senior Iranian military figure was targeted in Tehran and reports emerged of U.S. airstrikes striking Iranian maritime facilities.

According to the Israeli Army Radio, the target of the strike in the Iranian capital was Davoud Ali Zadeh, described as the Lebanon portfolio official within the Quds Force, the external operations arm of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). There has been no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding his status or the extent of casualties.

The Quds Force is a key unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, responsible for overseas operations and support for allied groups across the region, including in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that U.S. airstrikes targeted Iranian maritime ports, though specific locations and the scale of the damage were not immediately clear. Washington has yet to issue an official statement confirming the strikes.

The developments mark a significant escalation in tensions, as Iran has faced increasing military pressure amid a widening regional confrontation. Witnesses cited loud blasts in Tehran, but details about the nature of the explosions and potential casualties remain limited.

Iranian officials have not publicly commented on the reported Israeli or U.S. actions at the time of writing.
