A fire broke out aboard a US Navy aircraft carrier, leaving nine sailors slightly injured.
The Associated Press news agency quoted the US Navy as saying, in a statement, that the fire broke out while the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was conducting routine operations about 30 miles (50 kilometers) off Southern California.
The US Navy stated that the fire was quickly discovered and extinguished, through the firefighting efforts of the crew, while the nine injured marines were treated on board the carrier, which will continue its operations in the region, while an investigation is underway to find out the cause of the fire.
