On Friday night, a shooting at a gas station in Kansas City, Missouri, left one dead and four people injured, including a child, according to a police department news release.
The officers were dispatched just before 9:30 p.m. Friday the news of the sounds of gunshots. They find a man in the gas station parking lot, apparently with gunshot wounds.
Police said the man was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police also found two women with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, one of whom was treated and released at the scene. The release added that the other was taken to the hospital and is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
In addition, a third woman and a child under the age of five, both of whom were shot, arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Kansas City police reported that there is currently no suspicious information available and the "motive or intent" for the shooting remains unknown.
Detectives and crime scene personnel have been scouring the area for potential witnesses and evidence. Police said a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest.
