Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed, Minister of State for Emigration& Egyptian Expatriates Abroad - in coordination with the Egyptian diplomatic mission in the Saudi Arabia Kingdom - closely followed the crime of killing of two Egyptians working in the field of construction (armed carpenters), by a Saudi citizen.
The murderer shot the two victims dead after a sharp quarrel broke out between them. A fight broke out the while Egyptian workers were doing some construction work in a building owned by the Saudi citizen.
Makram confirmed that the perpetrator had confessed to the murder and surrendered to the Saudi authorities, noting that bodies of the two victims had been seized because of the continuation of investigations, as it was found that the two Egyptian citizens from the city of Nag Hammadi in Qena Governorate; one of them was called Adel Abdel-Imam Hussein - born in 1983- and the other Ezz El-Din Mohamed Abdel-Shafi - born in 1967.
Historical ties
The Minister of Immigration called on citizens not to be drawn into any un-audited news on social media, stressing the immediate follow-up of any incident to citizens abroad by all relevant state agencies.
The minister said that such incidents are committed by an inpidual and do not reflect the Saudi society, which treats the Egyptians as brothers and sisters with whom they have historical ties.
She added that the Egyptian authorities trust the Saudi judiciary and the perpetrator will receive his punishment according to the laws governing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
