The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has decided to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, as well as the subsequent developments in the region.
According to the Associated Press, the meeting is scheduled for 11:00 PM Cairo time, following a formal request from Bahrain and France.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned both the strikes targeting Iran and the Iranian response within the region, calling for restraint.
Meanwhile, joint U.S.-Israeli attacks continue across Iran, reportedly hitting hundreds of targets. Significant casualties among high-ranking officials have been reported, including the death of Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guard Commander Mohammad Pakpour during the Israeli strikes.
