The UNRWA has warned that children in Gaza are living in “unimaginable and harsh conditions,” stressing the urgent need to safeguard their right to education as a cornerstone for rebuilding their future.
In a statement, the agency said education in Gaza currently depends heavily on UNRWA’s continued operations. It affirmed that it will persist in its mission despite mounting challenges on the ground.
“Children in Gaza are enduring extremely difficult circumstances,” the agency said, emphasizing that ensuring access to education is essential not only for learning but also for psychological stability and long-term recovery.
The statement comes amid ongoing humanitarian concerns in the enclave, where infrastructure damage and displacement have disrupted schooling for thousands of students.
UNRWA reiterated its commitment to maintaining educational services, underscoring that investment in children’s education is vital to helping them build a more stable and hopeful future.
