The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that the population of the Gaza Strip is exposed to epidemic, intestinal and skin diseases.
This came in press statements by Adnan Abu Hasna, the agency’s media advisor, according to the Turkish Anadolu News Agency.
Abu Hasna said that the prevalence of skin diseases in Gaza has increased three times what it was before, while the rates of intestinal diseases have reached four times what they were before the war.
The UN official pointed out the spread of epidemic diseases such as hepatitis and cholera.
This came after Thomas White, Director of Agency Affairs in the Gaza Strip, announced last Saturday that there was an outbreak of hepatitis in one of the UN Agency’s schools in the Strip.
On December 1, the first humanitarian truce between Palestinian resistance factions and Israel ended since the war began on October 7.
