Enas Hamdan, Acting Director of the UNRWA Information Office in Gaza, confirmed in special statements to See that UNRWA will continue to provide its services to civilians in the Palestinian city of Rafah, warning of the danger of the Israeli army launching a military operation in Rafah and of the aggravation of the humanitarian crisis for the Palestinians.

Enas Hamdan said: “The consequences will be catastrophic for the civilian population there. The small city of Rafah is now crowded with nearly 1,400,000 displaced people living either in tents or shelter centers that are still managed by UNRWA. The conditions are tragic, disastrous and difficult. The daily life of the displaced is difficult and worsening, as there is a scarcity of supplies whether With regard to providing clean water for daily use, clean drinking water, providing food, medicine, etc.

Enas Hamdan, Acting Director of the UNRWA Information Office in Gaza, added in special statements to See that: “Deepening this military operation will only bring more tragedies to these civilians.”

She pointed out that: “The city of Rafah is basically a city located in the far south of the Gaza Strip, and there are the crossings through which humanitarian supplies enter, the Karam Abu Salem and Rafah crossings, and any impact or disruption on the movement of these crossings with regard to the entry of humanitarian aid will lead to tragic circumstances in addition to the tragedies that occur in Rafah and may accelerate the famine that experts have been warning about for weeks.”
