The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) published a picture of a 5-year-old Palestinian girl who said she dreams of the day she returns to her home.
This came in a blog post published by the agency on its official page on the “X” website (formerly Twitter), yesterday, Monday.
The UN body indicated that what the residents of the Gaza Strip have been subjected to since the beginning of the war on October 7, was the largest forced displacement from their homes since 1948.
The agency said: "Israel used force to displace 1.9 million Gazans from their homes since the beginning of the war on the Strip."
Earlier, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, said that he was shocked by the way what is happening in the Gaza Strip is being dealt with.
Lazzarini noted that “the residents of the Strip are dying from hunger and disease, and what they are exposed to is something we have not seen in any other conflict before".
