UNRWA: Health Sector Collapses in Gaza, Dozens of Hoses Razed to Ground

Dr. Adnan Abu Hasnah, a spokesman for the  United Nations  Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said that the health sector in the Gaza Strip has collapsed completely along with dozens of houses razed to the ground after eleven days last May of the Israeli aggression on civilians in the strip.

He added during remarks to the “ Min Misr-from Egypt’ program aired on CBC Space channel, that the Israeli forces used new sort of bombs to shell the urban centers and refugee camps in Gaza.

He pointed out that Gaza has been blocked for 15 years so traveling is done through Rafah land crossing between the Strip and Egypt.

Abu Hasnah warns that 97% of water is not valid for drinking and the percentage of unemployment in Gaza exceeds 60%    males and 90% among females among those who are in the age of work.

He went on to say that the last aggression was a devastating war that targeted the rickety infrastructure items such as streets, water supplies, and communications and electricity lines.

The UN official revealed the Strip was provided with electricity for 4 hours per day only.

The seriously injured people were sent either to Egypt or the West Bank.

On May 19,   The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, that the  Israeli ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip left 219 martyrs and 1530 wounded people until today morning.

The wounded people sustain various degrees of injures.

The Israeli warplanes have continued hitting civilians in the Strip for the tenth day in a row.

The Palestinian Ministry explained that there are 63 children among martyrs, 36 women, and 16 elder people, according to WAFA, a Palestinian news agency.

On the other hand, the Central Legal for Protection Rights of the Arab Minority In Israel revealed that forces of occupation arrested 58 Arabs of the population who lives behind the Green Line.

However, Al-Quds Brigades, the military arm of Islamic Jihad, revealed today that they shelled Tel Aviv, the capital city of Israel, with barrages of missiles.

The brigades assured that they shelled a number of Israeli military sites in the east of the Strip, with mortar shells.

Days ago,  Channel 13 TV news in Israel revealed that a number of Israeli ministers urged Prime Minister  Benjamin Netanyahu to terminate operations in the Gaza Strip.
