The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said on Wednesday that humanitarian conditions across the Gaza Strip are “extremely dire” amid continued restrictions on the delivery of aid.

In statements carried by Al Qahera News, the agency warned that the ongoing limitations on humanitarian access are worsening the already fragile situation for civilians throughout Gaza.

UNRWA stressed that it continues to operate on the ground, providing essential services to displaced Palestinians despite mounting challenges. The agency said it is delivering healthcare, education and emergency relief assistance through what it described as a unique network and broad field presence across the territory.

However, UNRWA cautioned that the scale of humanitarian needs now far exceeds what it is currently permitted to deliver.

“The volume of needs surpasses what is currently allowed,” the agency said, calling for restrictions to be lifted to enable a more effective and comprehensive humanitarian response.

The agency reiterated its appeal for unhindered access to ensure that life-saving assistance reaches those most in need as conditions continue to deteriorate across Gaza.
