Head of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini, will hold talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry during his visit to Cairo, today, Monday, according to Reuters.
The visit of the Commissioner-General of UNRWA to Cairo comes within the efforts of Egypt and the Agency to secure the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza Strip and lift the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation.
Earlier, UNRWA confirmed that delivering aid to Gaza Strip by land is the most effective and safest way, pointing out that its sustainable, unhindered arrival is a matter of life and death.
UNRWA described the situation in the northern Gaza Strip as "extremely tragic" due to the severe shortage of basic foodstuffs.
