Counselor Hazem Badawy, the head of the National Elections Authority in Egypt, has reported an unprecedented voter participation rate in the recent presidential elections. This high turnout, he states, reflects the heightened awareness and engagement of the Egyptian citizenry in the political process.

During a broadcast on the Extra News channel, the head of the National Elections Authority highlighted the smooth and satisfactory progression of the election process in Egypt. He emphasized that the elections have been marked by enthusiasm and a rejection of apathy, dismissing the notion of the 'sofa party' - a term used to describe non-participants in the electoral process.

Further, Counselor Badawy noted that over 45% of eligible voters participated in the presidential elections, a figure that surpasses participation rates in any previous elections or referendums in the country. He also mentioned that the board of the National Elections Authority has been in continuous session, overseeing the electoral process. According to reports from human rights organizations and civil society, there have been no significant breaches or irregularities in the conduct of the elections.

This remarkable voter turnout in Egypt's presidential elections is a significant indicator of the evolving political landscape in the country. The high participation rate is seen as a positive sign of the Egyptian public's growing interest in their nation's governance and future direction.
