UNICEF Representative in Egypt Jeremy Hopkins has hailed Egypt's new strategy for alternative care, saying that it creates a good and tangible impact on the lives of children who need to be cared for.

Hopkins, who congratulated the Egyptian government and the children as well for the entering into law of the alternative care, tweeted: "Delighted to attend the launch of 1st community dialogue on the alternative care law with H.E. Dr. El-Kabbag at Ministry of Social Solidarity (MOSS) to protect vulnerable children, especially without parental care. We join hands to advocate for the national strategy for alternative care."

The new strategy aims at providing a quality life for children and youth without parental care and raising awareness about Kafala.

According to domestic media, the new strategy sends a clear signal that vulnerable children's rights measures must be implemented across Egypt and in all its provinces to ensure the rights and well-being of all children, whoever and wherever they may be.

It's worth mentioning that the project is sponsored by UNICEF and other national and international institutions.
