The United Nations Development Programme, in partnership with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, will host a country-focused workshop in Cairo titled “Unlocking Innovative Financing for Resilience: Youth, Skills, and Inclusion in Egypt,” as part of their ongoing Thought Leadership Series.
The event, scheduled for Monday, 18 May 2026, will take place at Shabab Balad – Gezira Youth Center in Cairo, bringing together policymakers, development experts, and private sector stakeholders to explore new approaches to development financing in Egypt.
This third edition of the UNDP–AGF Thought Leadership Series will focus on how strategic philanthropy can help mobilize private sector capital through blended finance tools, including guarantees, first-loss structures, impact investing, outcomes-based financing, and social and green bonds.
The discussions will emphasize strengthening resilience and expanding opportunities in skills development, decent work, and social inclusion, particularly for women, youth, refugees, and host communities across Egypt.
The workshop will run from 09:00 to 15:00 local time and will be conducted in English, with bilingual discussions and Q&A sessions in English and Arabic.
Key participants include Chitose Noguchi and Elina Silen, alongside representatives from UNDP regional offices and the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation.
Organizers said the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between development partners and the private sector to unlock innovative financial solutions that support inclusive and sustainable growth in Egypt.
Media inquiries and interview requests can be directed to UNDP communications officials in Egypt and the regional hub in Amman.
