The Ministry of International Cooperation will launch “Egypt - International Cooperation Forum (ICF): Engaging for Impact”, on September 8th and 9th, under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, with high-level international and regional participation. The function will bring together the global community to streamline efforts for a better tomorrow and to identify the parameters of sustainable recovery.

The hybrid forum will take place during the participation of several economic and social institutions as well as bilateral and multilateral development partners, such as the United Nations, the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.

Other key participants include: African, Asian, and Latin American Ministers and policy makers; Presidents of international financial institutions; bilateral and multilateral development partners’ representatives; think tanks; the private sector; and international and regional research centers.

The forum will take place over the span of 2 days, and encompasses engaging panels and workshops.

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, stated that the forum marks Egypt’s first international cooperation and development financing forum; reflecting the country’s leading role in international cooperation amidst the global and regional stakeholders.

The Minister further elaborated that holding Egypt — International Cooperation Forum (Egypt—ICF) reflects the country’s and H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s trust and belief in unifying countries’ efforts towards achieving inclusive and sustainable development for all, especially in transitional and developing economies, which in turn reflects Egypt’s efforts towards pushing for development cooperation in a harmonized manner.

Al-Mashat also noted that this forum underscores the importance of harnessing opportunities and deepening partnerships in order to achieve sustainable development, which opens the door for a strengthened dialogue between countries, financing institutions, and development partners.

The two-day forum shall highlight the significance of multilateralism, with an emphasis on Egypt’s ownership for ‘building back better’ in transitional and developing economies.
