The United Nations (UN) confirms that 19 million Yemenis will face severe food insecurity over the next six months.

The UN has warned that there are 23.4 million people in Yemen in need of humanitarian assistance and its expectation is that 19 million people will face acute food insecurity over the next six months, along with 2.2 million children who are likely to be wasted.

The international organization confirmed that the truce brokered by it, which expired in early October and the militias have so far refused to extend it, allowed a significant increase in fuel imports, alleviating the price inflation, as well as increasing freedom of movement and reducing civilian casualties.

The UN predicted emergency levels of acute food insecurity in the governorates of Abyan, Hajjah, Lahj, and Ma'rib.
