The United Nations (UN) has welcomed the initiative presented by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to hold peace talks between Yemeni warring factions in Riyadh.
In press remarks, the UN spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, stressed that the organization appreciates all initiatives to reach a comprehensive negotiated political settlement that would end the conflict in Yemen.
It is worth mentioning that the Secretary-General of the GCC, Nayef Al-Hajraf, announced on Saturday, that the council will host Yemeni-Yemeni negotiations in Riyadh this month.
He explained that the consultations will discuss 6 axes, including military and political, aiming to open humanitarian corridors and achieve stability.
