Two United Nations aid organizations reported on Monday that nearly 100 trucks loaded with food for Palestinians were violently looted on November 16 after their entry into Gaza, marking one of the most significant losses of aid during the ongoing conflict.

Tor Wennesland, the U.N. coordinator for the Middle East peace process, emphasized that humanitarian agencies are confronted with a perilous and challenging operational landscape in Gaza, compounded by access restrictions that impede their efforts.

"The humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as winter approaches, is dire, particularly in the northern regions where there has been extensive and nearly complete displacement of the population, alongside widespread destruction and land clearing, all occurring in what appears to be a troubling disregard for international humanitarian law," Wennesland noted .

"The current circumstances represent some of the most severe we have witnessed throughout the entire conflict and show no signs of improvement."
