The UN Security Council has issued a call to Israel to intensify its efforts to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, as reported by Cairo News Channel.

This appeal comes in the wake of Israel's ongoing assault on Gaza, which has been relentless since October 7, resulting in a provisional toll of over 33,000 deaths, predominantly among women and children, and more than 76,000 injuries.

Thousands of victims remain unaccounted for under the rubble or in the streets, with Israeli forces hindering access to rescue and civil defense teams.

The civilian population in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, has faced severe violations of international humanitarian law by Israeli forces.

Reports indicate that civilian homes have been targeted, infrastructure and civil facilities destroyed, and a variety of weapons used, including internationally banned munitions such as cluster bombs and white phosphorus. These actions have led to devastating losses of civilian lives and property.

The Security Council's call emphasizes the urgent need for Israel to take concrete actions to ensure that humanitarian assistance can reach those in desperate need in Gaza. The ongoing blockade and military operations have severely restricted the flow of essential supplies, exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation.

The international community watches closely, hoping for a swift response that will allow aid to alleviate the suffering of Gaza's beleaguered population.
