Tomorrow, Tuesday, the UN Security Council (UNSC) will hold a consultation session on Libya ahead of the official session scheduled for the thirtieth of this month.

The Libyan News Agency reported today, Monday, that the UNSC will discuss, in the session held at the end of this month, the issue of extending the United Nations Support Mission in Libya for a new period and vote on it.

On the other hand, the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has witnessed, since last Saturday, intensive movements of armed formations south of Tripoli, amidst a tight security alert.

Security sources stated that these battalions belong to a number of armed groups from the city of Zintan and Al-Zawiya.

The sources indicated that there are forces affiliated with the Director of the Military Intelligence Department and the Commander of the Western Military Region,

Maj. Gen. Osama Juwaili, who are preparing to enter Tripoli.

The sources said that the military movements taking place in Tripoli in the past hours "come in order for the Prime Minister of the Libyan government, designated by Parliament headed by Fathi Pashaga, to enter and take over his duties."
