This year, during Ramadan, I came to the Rafah crossing border in order to share the suffering with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Today I met with the injured civilians here in Al-Arish. I commend the generosity and solidarity of the Egyptian state and the Egyptian people. "
He added during a press conference in front of the Rafah crossing border: “There is no justification for collective punishment against the Palestinian people in Gaza... and the people of Gaza are spending the month of Ramadan under Israeli bombing and without humanitarian aid .”
