UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths expressed his concern over the overcrowding in the southern Gaza Strip, during a Security Council session on the decision of the International Court of Justice regarding Gaza.
He revealed that the residents of the Gaza Strip are facing dire conditions, such as having to sleep in the rain and mud.
He also emphasized that all displaced individuals in Gaza have the right to voluntary return in accordance with international law. Additionally, Griffiths stressed the importance of providing prompt humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Griffiths further noted that the humanitarian community's ability to reach those who require assistance in Gaza is inadequate and insufficient.
