The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, arrived in Egypt on a three-day official visit from 27 to 29 May.
Grandi's visit aims to highlight the needs of people forcibly displaced by the conflict in Sudan who have crossed into Egypt in search of safety, and to mobilize support for Egypt, which has witnessed the largest number of arrivals from Sudan so far.
During his visit, Grandi will travel to the Qastal-Ashkeer border crossing, according to a statment issued by UNHCR.
Moreover, he will also meet with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and other ministers, as well as refugees who have recently arrived in Egypt.
