The 74th session of the UN General Assembly opens today in New York. . It is scheduled to conclude its activities on September 30.
The general debate of the session will start on Tuesday September 24, with the participation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The main topics on the agenda are Security and peace, climate change, human rights, sustainable development as well as many other branching items such as economic growth, the advancement of women, armed conflict, the Palestinian cause, atomic radiation, outer space, Africa's development, humanitarian assistance efforts, justice, international law, disarmament, drug control, crime prevention and combating terrorism.
The session also will address all organizational, administrative and UN-related issues. During the session, each state will present its vision regarding the topics listed above. The participants will also share their views about the international and regional issues.
The participants will include 97 heads of state, including 14 Arab leaders, 5 deputy heads of state, 46 prime ministries, 5 deputy prime ministers, 38 ministers and two ambassador delegations.
On his part, Vassily Nebenzia, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said on Tuesday that Russia will set multilateral approaches to various problems and put forward security initiatives during the next session of the UN General Assembly, TASS reported.
The Russian envoy noted that his country's initiatives are related to disarmament issues. Russia also is promoting its initiative on cyber security.
