The United Nations said testimonies from Palestinians returning to Gaza via the Rafah crossing indicate they were subjected to mistreatment by Israeli forces.

In a statement, the UN noted that accounts provided by returnees revealed instances of abuse during their passage, raising concerns over the treatment of civilians amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The remarks come as international organizations continue to monitor conditions at border crossings and call for the protection of civilians, particularly those moving through humanitarian corridors. The UN has repeatedly urged all parties to adhere to international humanitarian law and ensure safe and dignified passage for civilians.
