UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will head to Kyiv, on Thursday, to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

The UN Secretary-General's visit to Ukraine follows a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is worth mentioning that, United Nations (UN) spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that discussions are underway between the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Russian Ministry of Defense, against the background of Russia’s approval of the United Nations’ participation in evacuating citizens from the last remaining stronghold in Mariupol city, in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Earlier, the UN delivered two letters to the Russian and Ukrainian missions to the international organization, requesting preparations for two separate meetings between the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky; to discuss ways to stop the conflict.
